Coastal Rides is a ride-hailing service. This is a modern version of a taxi, all fares are set in advance, and payments are made through our online system. To book a ride as soon as possible, download our app. We currently have active drivers on the Sunshine Coast, in the Comox Valley, Campbell River, Tofino, Port Alberni and Fort St. John. Rides can be booked up to 7 days in advance or on-demand. Please contact us if you have any questions or need assistance booking.
We are looking for additional drivers on Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, Powell River, and Northern BC. Check out the drive with us page for more details.
TYPES OF RIDES
Private Ride
Your personal ride to get you where you need to go. Drivers are carefully screened to deliver you safely to your destination. A fare estimate is provided prior to booking and payments must be made in the app.
Shared Ride
Shared rides will be a great option to help reduce the cost of your ride. Seats may be limited, so make sure to update the number of riders in your party before booking, otherwise the vehicle may not have room for you when it arrives. In some cases, you may need to walk a short distance to a more convenient location for pickup.
Services for Larger Groups
On the Sunshine Coast we have larger 9 and 14 passenger shuttle vans available. These can be booked for point to point transfers in our app. Please Contact Us if you need assistance booking. If you are hosting an event and looking for transportation options for your guests, please fill out this form to inquire about our host-paid services.
Accessible Transportation
We are working to add wheelchair accessible transportation options to our system. A local non-profit, Getting There Society is currently fundraising for the purchase and operation of a wheelchair accessible vehicle on the Sunshine Coast.

- Driver and rider personal information is shielded to protect your privacy
- All payments are processed in the app so there is no need to handle cash or process credit card payments
- If you are looking for a ride outside of our operating hours, you will see when the next service will be available.
